The City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation and the San Antonio River Authority, in coordination with Bexar County, will host a property owner and stakeholder meeting on Tuesday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m. at the Cliff Morton Development and Business Services Center, 1901 South Alamo Street to kick off the introduction of a zoning overlay district for the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project area.
Bexar County and the San Antonio River Authority are in the midst of the design phase of the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project which will transform the creek to reflect its place in our cultural history, improve its function in flood control, revitalize natural habitat and water quality, and catalyze economic development.
In an effort to protect the public investment by Bexar County, the San Antonio River Authority has commissioned the creation of a new River Improvement Overlay zoning district. The purpose of the proposed district is to guide private investment along San Pedro Creek to ensure a harmonious environment that increases the public’s use and appreciation for the Creek.
A follow-up meeting is scheduled for late March with more details to come. Please visit www.spcproject.org for more details on the project. For more information about this initiative, please call (210) 302-3257 or email [email protected].
