Writers Take A Walk
CALL FOR POETS
During the month of April 2021, in honor of National Poetry Month, the San Antonio River Authority will celebrate poetry and short stories inspired by the beautiful San Pedro Creek Culture Park (SPCCP). Local writers are encouraged to take a walk along the creek in downtown San Antonio and submit a poem or short story about their experience. Chapbooks from past literary events may be picked up (for free) at the front desk at the River Authority’s main office located at 100 E Guenther, San Antonio, TX. These chapbooks feature poetry from the 2019 Writers Take a Walk event and include pages for you to take notes as you walk along creek.
Poems and short stories MUST be submitted to this email, no later than Tuesday, April 27, 2021 by 5PM. All submissions MUST be followed with a writer’s release form (see below) and may be posted on SPCCP social media platforms on Thursday, April 29, 2021 for Poem in Your Pocket Day 2021. The poem or short story that receives the most likes by 4PM on Thursday, April 29, 2021 will be chosen as winner for this virtual edition of Writers Take a Walk. The winner will have their work featured on the SPCCP website and social media platforms and receive a gift bag from the River Authority.
