Fit & Flow
Saturday, February 19, 2022
10am – 11am
Salinas Boardwalk, between Martin and Travis Sts., San Pedro Creek Culture Park
San Pedro Creek provides a quiet space for everyone to exercise and commune with nature. SPC’s Fit & Flow series features a wide variety of health and wellness activities for the mind, body and spirit like CrossFit, tai chi, meditation, Zumba, healthy cooking demonstrations, and more.
On Saturday, February 19th, join San Antonio Clubhouse at the Salinas Boardwalk where they will be talking about their hydroponic farm and the mental health benefits of both working with plants and combining them into a healthy diet. SA Clubhouse believes in the power of stories to change minds and will have a couple of community members speaking on their own experiences living with mental illness.
About San Antonio Clubhouse
We Are Not Alone—
The Clubhouse is all about togetherness — believing that together, we will get better. Since 2003, our continuing mission has been to deliver community, opportunity, and hope for those living with mental illness.
San Antonio Clubhouse is a model of community-based mental healthcare where members engage in therapeutically-designed tasks to overcome personal obstacles while supporting the daily work of the organization. Clubhouses offer social programming on evenings, weekends, and holidays to support a healthy work/recreational life balance.
Based on the belief that everyone can recover and lead a full, productive, and meaningful life, Clubhouse members share ownership and responsibility for the success of the organization. Working and socializing in a unique partnership with a small staff, we focus on strengths over illness. Skills acquired or enhanced while working at the Clubhouse can be readily applied to a variety of outside paid work and educational environments.
This event will be in-person and will be practicing social distancing. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP.
