DESCRIPTION:Two days of holiday fun are just around the corner at San Pedro Creek Culture Park (SPCCP)! This holiday season Illume: Making Spirits Bright will occur on Friday, December 10 and Saturday December 11, starting at 6:00 PM each night. As in previous years, the event will feature the food, dance, music, and art of our diverse and festive community.  SPCCP is a family-friendly destination where culture, art and nature are celebrated through a variety of events and programs, including the annual holiday light display and temporary artwork installation.  The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) is excited to invite everyone back to the creek!\nOn Friday, December 10, visitors to San Pedro Creek Culture Park will discover a variety of vibrant, whimsical sculptures designed by San Antonio-based artist Justice David Gutierrez ( https://justicedgutierrez.com/ ).  The temporary installation, titled Babbling, will be located beneath the street bridges and in the creek channel.\nDuring the daytime these sculptures will lay “dormant” while visually standing out against the natural environment. During the nighttime the sculptures will “wake up” and illuminate with color changing LED lights and corresponding multicultural musical score created by San Antonio-based musician Alberto Vazquez.  The nocturnal music and sculptures will come together to create a kind of abstract symphony.  The installation will be up through January 3, 2022.\nMeet the artist and enjoy FREE Mexican hot chocolate and bunuelos provided by Vero’s Café.\nOn Saturday, December 11, from 6pm to 9pm, come back to enjoy an intimate event full of giveaways, food trucks and a large cinema screen showcasing a video about SPC events, including last year’s all-virtual Illume, and a short documentary about the temporary installation.  This video will also premiere on social media at 6pm on Saturday, December 11.\nGo Rio Raffle Prize: Register at the event to win a free barge ride for you and 19 of your friends on December 30! The 2-hour nighttime barge ride includes a visit to the downtown River Walk and Museum Reach to see the festive holiday lights.\nFree parking is available at the Bexar County Parking Garage located at 514 W.
